While these services are provided in the market, there is not a General Surgeon with special training in this area and focusing on breast surgery. The hospital is well positioned to develop a Breast specialty surgeon as a part of The Pavilion for Women and Children. Further, they have recruited a fellowship trained Bariatric Surgeon to join the team effective April 18, 2005. They anticipate this new General Surgeon will have the opportunity to perform Bariatric Surgery (once competency is proven), assist the Bariatric Surgeon and train in Bariatrics if interested. Also, there is the option to share call and office space with the Bariatric Surgeon. This will take a special candidate—they are looking for the best. Three year commitment that the physician will remain in the community in the continuous full time private practice of medicine.
